I’m getting a little behind on these things! Episode 15 is already out with Sir Brizz and TWD covering major changes such as the single tap dodge. I have been trying this out in the pre-alpha quite a bit, especially on forward dodge and it is actually surprisingly usable.
Outline for this week’s Podcast:
Yay, level designers get some attention in this week’s UT project Update!
Hey, in this week’s podcast, if you watch carefully, you can see me getting killed by TWD in the 8/22 pre-alpha :D. That is, in between crashes of course.
This week’s project update covers the pre-alpha builds by Raxxy and the fall out from that going viral. Basically, Epic are taking control of this now and if you’re a forum subscriber, you can download the builds. The builds will hopefully be weekly which I think works well. Any shorter interval would be a mess IMO.
Another aspect of the update has the team discussing UT as a long term project with potentially continuous updates. Lastly, Jim Brown discusses Esports with Steve Polge bringing up the potential for different movement types for different “seasons”!
The White Dragon and Sir Brizz are at it again with Episode 13! Do not miss these UT fans!
The pace of Unreal Engine development continues to astonish with massive additions and improvements with every release. With the 4.4 release, Epic’s Unreal Engine developer army has added some items that will be critical to completion of the new Unreal Tournament.
A new behavior tree editor will allow the development of AI behavior using blueprint-style tools. New marketplace content includes the Landscape Mountains created with World Machine as seen in the screenshot below. Read more about the release HERE.
Things are heating up in UT-land these days with big improvements in the movement coupled with some great additions to the game, most notably, Sidney “Clawfist” Rauchberger’s DM-Spacer map.
DM-Spacer is nowhere close to a finished map yet it is very fun to play and the visuals are fantastic thanks to the reflective materials applied.
This week’s podcast discussing the new Unreal Tournament centers on the big improvements that have been made to the game lately including movement speed increases. Finally!
