Epic has released a new free demo pack on the Unreal Engine 4 Marketplace. It is called Sci-Fi hallway and is a downright amazing display of what can be done in this engine.
This seriously has me drooling over the potential visuals possible in the new Unreal Tournament!
Epic has released Unreal Engine 4.1 today and along with it, the Elemental Demo content! I’ve been looking forward to this to get my paws on the loads of free content that can be reused in other projects (Open Tournament anyone?).

It looks like Epic is going to make it really difficult for folks like me who were planning on subscribing to UE4 and cancelling. They keep adding new free content to the Marketplace and next week, they will be adding the Elemental Demo and all of it’s content for free download!

Okay so we know Epic is not working on a new UT. One of the reasons is that they have been hard at work on Fortnite. Very little has been released about this game however there is finally some new footage in the following video.
I’m not that excited but it is cool to see a UE4 game being made by the company that invented UE4.
Ever since the release of the Unreal Engine 4 development tools, the Unreal Engine YouTube channel has been flooded with an incredible amount of instructional videos! Well, if I don’t quit my job, I guess I will have to give up sleep.
One of the two has to happen because it would be such fun to get good at using these tools. Head on over HERE for the video listing for UE4.
Okay, so I signed up for at least a month subscription so I could check out what all of the fuss is about. There are some really cool features. I think the Marketplace idea is a great idea for people to sell their game content wares.
Epic has provided some examples of basic game functionality in UE4. The image below is from a playable “Shooter Game” example that I was able to walk around in. Here’s hoping I win the lottery so I can build the next UT in my free time. Someone has to do it…
